Laura is an honorary crew member.  She has not actually sailed with us but she was so cool when we visited her home island of St. Croix that we decided to create the position of honorary crew member just for her.
Laura is a friend of Tom and Sandy.  She moved to St. Croix in the late 90's and Tom and Sandy hadn't seen her much, if at all, since then.  We spent several days in St. Croix during which time Laura took on the task of making sure that we saw everything there is  to see, that we ate in the best places there are to eat in (and there are some great ones), that we snorkeled in the best places there are to snorkel and, generally,  that we had the best time there was to be had.
On a Sunday afternoon Laura took us "limin" at Buck Island, just a mile or two off of St. Croix.  Folks bring their friends and family over to Buck Island, bring their boats in very close to the shore, drop a bow anchor and carry a stern anchor to the beach.  Then for the rest of the afternoon you swim, eat, drink beer, listen to music, walk on the beach, BS with the other folks out there and so on and so on ... the locals call it "limin" and it's a great way to spend an afternoon in paradise.
